I loathe acne! I mean HELLO, I'M 26 why am I still getting zits! You would think by looking at my face I'm 16 years old and it has gotten worse since being in South Korea. I was spared from having acne in high school, it wasn't till getting pregnant with Adalie that I really started experience frequent break outs.
I've tried so many creams, lotions, acne treatments, new face washes, prescriptions, antibiotics. Nothing really works, so far. Well I did some research and am trying a new product that seems to work for people. Exposed Skin Care acne treatment. I will report back on it's success or failure in a few weeks.
If any of you have any suggestions or successful strategies please let me know. I'm sick of wearing make-up every time I go out! I miss being fresh faced and letting my freckles show!

I have a friend with the same prob....and she is now taking a certain med and it is the only thing that has worked EVER! I know it is a strong med b/c she had to get a pregnancy test twice I think (so many weeks apart) and I believe she has to go in every month to have another pregnancy test before they will give her the prescription. If you want I can ask her the details....in fact I think she blogged it to and I will try to find it and link it to you!
Oh I can relate!! I just went to the dermatologist a few weeks ago b/c my skin had gotten so bad. I asked her the same question, "WHY am I 24 years old and have the same skin I had at 16?" She said it was a myth that we grow out of acne and I have acne because of the way my skin cells lay and are shaped, not b/c of hormones or stress or dirt. So basically, I will have to deal with it forever. She put me on an antibiotic and retina which does seem to be helping. If you have any luck with your new system please let us know!
Elizabeth- I think your friend is on a medication called Acutane. I have had friends on that before. It does really work but it is very strong, you have to have severe acne to go on it. My acne is mild to moderate at times and we are too close to baby number 2 to go on anything harsh. So I'm hoping this gentler over the counter stuff will work!
Hey, have you tried witch hazel?? I just started using it during my pregnancy (since they won't let you use hardly anything else for breakouts), and I love it. Thayers is the brand that I like because it is scented (I use the original with aloe). Do not buy plain witch hazel...it smells awful! You can get Thayers at the Vitamin Shoppe over here, but I'm sure you could find it there or order it online. Good luck!
Hi Meghan! I feel your pain. Have you tried 1% hydrocortisone cream? I tried it after reading about it in a magazine a few years ago and now I always keep a tube around. It really works..just a thin layer at night before you go to sleep whenever your skin gets really rebellious. Walgreens brand works really well for me. Good luck!
Thanks Cat, if this doesn't work I will try it... BUT I think this is working! I hope it's not faking me out!
