What an Honor!

My cousin Michelle is getting married on September 20th and she has been working on what type of flowers and arrangements she wants for her wedding. Yesterday I went to her house to pick up Adalie (thanks for babysitting Michelle) she was showing me all the gorgeous arrangements she had done HERSELF. You see we don't have many options when it comes to wedding vendors in these parts and she was frustrated with the florists they had interviewed so she decided to see what she could do on her own......
Who knew she was so talented in the floral department! I wish I had known this before my wedding I would have hired her. The arrangement in the picture is the one she gave me yesterday to take home and attached was a card that said "Be my Matron of Honor" I of course said yes!! What an honor it is to be apart of such an amazing union between Judd and Michelle. Very rarely do you find a couple that complete each other and have as much fun together as these two. I can't wait till the wedding!

Claire's Trip To See Baby Addie

Hello Everyone,

I am happy to report our 5 pound wonder, Adalie, is now a 6 pound wonder! She is growing like crazy these days, the formula supplement is doing it's job. My dear friend Claire came to Mississippi to meet Adalie last week and then drove back down to Florida with us. I am so thankful for her help on the drive down, it's not easy stopping to take Jack to the bathroom, feed the baby, feed yourself, go to the bathroom, pump gas and drive a long distance alone. THANKS CLAIRE for coming!! Here are some pictures from our time together.....

More To Come,

THE BEST DAD IN THE WORLD!

Hey There,

I may have bragged on James already BUT here I go again.... He is such a wonderful Father to Adalie! He is so involved with her care it is adorable. I know this is how all Dad's SHOULD be but this is not always the case. I feel so blessed to have been given this wonderful man as my Husband and the Father of our Daughter.

As for Adalie, she had a check up yesterday and she weighed 5 pounds 5 ounces. Dr. Sykes was a bit concerned that she is not gaining weight quickly enough so they did blood work to check everything out. The lab results came back all clear. The doctor has instructed us to feed her every 3 hours, even at night and to feed her 2 oz. of formula after every feeding. Hopefully when we go back to the office on Thursday she will have had a nice jump in weight from the extra calories.

Enjoy Your Weekend,

UPDATE!

Hi There,

Well, our little Adalie is now 13 days old and the time has flown by. Her little cord stump fell off yesterday and it looks like she may have an "outie" but we will have to wait till the belly button fully heals till we know for sure. We took her to the pediatrician on Friday for her 10 day check up and the Doctor said she is very healthy. She has regained 3 oz that she lost in the hospital which puts her at 4lbs 14oz. The Doctor wants us to stop by later this week to check her weight again, they like to see babies up to their birth weight by 2 weeks.

Addie is a great baby so far! She only cries when she is hungry and sleeps about 20 hours a day. We are averaging about three feedings during the night and early morning usually at 10pm, 3am and 7am then she goes back to sleep. She is staying asleep between 4-6 hours at night and about 2-4 during the day.

I am feeling back to normal now, the soreness is gone. I am ready to get back in the gym but I was advised to not work out for six weeks. I am going to see if I can get this restriction lifted by my Doctor at 3 weeks post baby since I am feeling fine. I have lost 12.5 of the 14 pounds I gained which makes me feel better but I still have a ways to go to get back into shape which will only happen with some sweaty gym sessions.

Enjoy the new Adalie pictures,

Meghan
